Westleaf is looking for an experienced Market Research & Consumer Insights Specialist to join their Sales and Marketing team. This role will provide actionable and meaningful data-driven insights which will help understand the needs of the consumer and ultimately drive business growth. By implementing data findings into a tangible concept, the incumbent will play a role in identifying ongoing business opportunities and leverage trending consumer behaviours to position Westleaf as a leader in their industry.

The successful candidate will work independently in the entire process of quantitative research; which includes identifying business needs, questionnaire development and implementation, data analysis, and reporting.

Please note, the successful candidate for this role can reside in either Toronto or Calgary area.


  • Forecast and track marketing and sales trends through the analysis of collected data
  • Collect and analyze data on customer demographics, preferences, needs, and buying habits to identify potential markets and factors affecting product demand
  • Work closely with marketing team to assist in translating analytical findings into concepts
  • Measure the effectiveness of marketing, advertising, and communications programs and strategies
  • Understand needs of the business and translate into research questions
  • Devise and evaluate methods and procedures for collecting data, such as surveys, opinion polls, or questionnaires, or arrange to obtain existing data
  • Work with cross-functional team members across divisions to identify and prioritize actionable, high-impact insights and translate them
  • Prepare reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and translating complex findings into written text
  • Monitor industry statistics and follow trends in trade literature


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business with a specialization in Mathematics/Statistics/Economics (or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Consumer Analytics and/or Market Research
  • Previous experience in retail and/or packaged goods industry an asset
  • Proficient ability to translate diverse data sets into cohesive and succinct stories
  • Previous experience in statistical modelling would be desirable
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, manage projects, and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
